
Nena Verona
The native-born Venezuelan Nena has taught Salsa Clásica for more than ten years in Vienna. Her mother says, she was able to dance before she was able to walk. Nena graduated at the Venezuelan dance academy after eight years training. She moved to the USA afterwards to improve her dancing and artistic skills. Further stops were Cuba and New York, where she created a teaching method consistent with the rhythm of music. The method communicates positive impacts of our music, magic of the rhythm and the joy of feelings. Besides the teaching, Nena started a successful project in 2012, called “Salsabar Wien” – a place where Viennese can enjoy authentic, Latin-American flair. The projects not only communicate the joy of dancing, but also contribute to mental and physical health as well as quality of life. Nena Verona is a passionate art and music enthusiast from classical to modern music, folklore, and jazz… Moreover Nena is a fashion designer, color and stlye advisor and aerobic teacher.

Norbert Gerstl
Norbert Gerstl has been dancing for 15 years and teaching Salsa, Rueda de Casino, Son und Cha Cha Cubana for approx. eight years. Prior to that he was working in the NGO area (nature conservation), where he mainly worked on wildlife conservation projects in Austria. Rueda de Casino belongs to his passion and was the starting point for his teaching and dancing career.
“Contact with people, improving their joy for life and the connection between cultures are the main points of my teaching activity. Gaining new experiences, getting to know yourself and your body better, adapting and interacting with each other – that’s what makes dancing Salsa to one of the most beautiful hobbies in the world.” Besides training with teachers from the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havanna, also regular journeys to Cuba and the visit of Salsa congresses belong to his training program.

Jorge Morales
Jorge Morales is a native-born Cuban, who made a substantial contribution to the introduction and raising popularity of Rueda de Casino in Austria. Therefore he is often called Jorge Rueda in the Salsa community. He has been living in Austria for quite a long time; therefore he understands the needs of his course participants. One of his special concerns is not only to teach Rueda to his participants, but also to communicate the related attitude to life from his home country. His teaching style is a combination Cuban zest for life and a precise explanation of the dancing steps and figures. His dancing pupils are able to learn Rueda de Casino in a very short time with a lot of joy. Besides the regular dancing workshops in Vienna he gets invited as a guest teacher to several national and international dancing events. Mira Vegas-Kratochwil
Mira Vegas-Kratochwil BA completed her professional dance training at the “MUK” conservatory in Vienna (contemporary and classical dance) and studied Afro-Cuban dances at the “ISA” art university in Havana for one year. In addition to her dance career and participation in national and international dance productions and interdisciplinary art projects, she is co-founder of the animation team “Cuba LYM”. As a freelance artist, she is also active as an actress in children’s theater and as a bass singer with the band Beat Poetry Club. She is currently dancing in the company “Tropicalissimo” under the direction of Ramiel Abreu (Cuba) and teaches Cuban dance styles in Vienna. In her lessons, Mira pays particular attention to the perfection of body movement and to the harmonious interplay of the individual body parts.

Yusimi Moya
Yusimi Moya is native Cuban and successfully completed her professional dancing training at the well-known „Escuela Nacional de Arte“ in La Havanna in the area of folklore and modern dance. She worked together with choreographs from the national ballet at the “Folklorico Nacional de Cuba” for 5 years and was also involved in further folkloric and contemporary projects. She has lived in Vienna since end of 2013 and has worked as a dancing instructor and dancer since then. In the year 2016 she won the scholarship from the Festival Vienna World competition for her self created modern performance. Yusimi’s workshops focus mainly on dancing history, the beat and the sense for body movements as well as the rhythm. But the most important thing is to feel the joy of Cuban dances.
